Before my husband and I got married, we started scaling down our life so that when I got pregnant I could be a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom. So far, I have been loving it with the exception that I get bored and restless and often find myself trying to come up with things to do with my son.
Anyone who works/stays at home knows that it can be quite lonely. Enter MeetUp.com.
I vaguely remember hearing about this website awhile back. At the time, I had a really busy life and didn’t think much about it (I also might’ve brushed it off as a dating website).
Luckily for me, a good friend of mine forwarded me an invitation to join a mommy group on there. My life has truly changed for the better.
Since joining meetup.com, I have joined 3 different groups. I go to some sort of “meetup”/event nearly every day. I have met a myriad of wonderful women with children of varying ages and my son continues to get a wider range of social interaction other than just playing with kids at the playground.
So, if you’re a caregiver of a small child and you’re looking for things to do (you don’t have to be a stay-at-home, work-at-home mom – you don’t even have to be a woman for that matter) check out MeetUp.com and join a local group in your area.
