If you’re cloth diapering, did you know that you can save even more money by making your own wipes?
Having a sewing machine helps, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. Get some flannel (Jo-Ann’s has sales on cute flannel prints quite frequently, so if you wait for one of their sales, you can get it for about $2.50 / yard) and cut it into 8 in x 8 in squares. It is best to use pinking shears as it will take longer for the material to fray.
Now if you do have a sewing machine, sew a basic zig zag stitch around the outside. It really doesn’t matter if you’re neat or not… you really can’t tell.
That’s all there is to it. Now use them like normal and throw them in the wash with your cloth diapers.
** Hint: Use a wipes warmer or plastic wipes container filled with water or homemade wipes solution. **
